So Much for Change: Statement of Susan Rice at the UN Concerning Gaza

Statement by Ambassador Susan E. Rice, US Permanent Representative, on Respect for International Humanitarian Law, in the Security Council, January 29, 2009

"The United States is deeply concerned Mr. President about the loss of Palestinian and Israeli life in recent weeks and the tragic suffering of Palestinian civilians, who require urgent humanitarian and reconstruction assistance. Violations of international humanitarian law have been perpetrated by Hamas through its rocket attacks against Israeli civilians in southern Israel and the use of civilian facilities to provide protection for its terrorist attacks. There have also been numerous allegations made against Israel some of which are deliberately designed to inflame. We expect Israel will meet its international obligations to investigate and we also call upon all members of the international community to refrain from politicizing these important issues."

Oh sure, we all expect Israel to meet it's "international obligations to investigate" itself.

Sure we do.

Mustn't inflame either. No dead children, no no pity, don't get upset anyone, can't offend Israel, the shining beacon of democracy that it is.

This is Gaza, but I wonder if Susan Rice has heard what Livni said today, and don't forget, Livni is the "peace candidate" as opposed to the so-called hawk (vulture) Netanyahu. Straight out of Livni's mouth:
"I will only advance an agreement that represents our interests of maintaining a maximum of [West Bank Jewish] residents, keeping places that are important to us especially in Jerusalem, and not allowing the return of a single refugee." (source)

Yep. We trust Israel to investigate itself, sure we do, when they absolutely refuse to abide by international law.

Keep boot licking Rice, what a coincidence that you share the same name as the famous coiner of the phrase "birth pangs of the new Middle East"

Tally so far: over 1300 dead Palestinians, as the US continues to support the murderous, international law breaking Zionist regime.

Oh how SWEET the smell of "change".

Try sewer gas.
