All kitted out… the Gaza school kids

WHEN the new school year started in Gaza this week, children in Yibna Refugee Camp had a reason to smile.
Defying the Israeli economic blockade, Islington Friends of Yibna succeeded in delivering school kits to the children.
When the most deprived children arrived for their first school day they received bags with pens and pencils.
Maram Abu Luly, headteacher of Al-Awda School, told them: “Islington Friends of Yibna are trying to help all of you to be successful pupils.”
A fundraising Sunday lunch is being held by the Islington group on September 30.
